CA4 Psychomotor Domain learning levels 5-7

Complex Overt Response

Objective: By the end of this lesson, given information about automotive relays and their related circuits, each student will troubleshoot the root cause of a simulated melted relay box and recommend the appropriate repair by isolating the high current draw circuit.

Evaluation tool:

Troubleshoot a simulated melted relay box on the demonstration board, isolating the high current draw circuit and recommending the appropriate repair.

Adaptation

Objective: By the end of this lesson, given information about automotive relays and their related circuits, each student will wire in a replacement relay in place of a (simulated) damaged factory relay box, such that the circuit will function satisfactorily.

Evaluation tool:

Wire in a relay separate from the existing relay on the demonstration board.

Origination

Objective: By the end of this lesson, given information about automotive relays and their related circuits, each student will analyze pattern failures in factory solid state circuits, designing and constructing a replacement, relay-based, analog circuit that will function with reliability and improved longevity.

Evaluation tool:

Research a pattern failure solid state circuit; design and construct a wiring and relay circuit capable of replacing the solid state circuit with a higher degree of longevity and reliability.
