Objective: By the end of this lesson, given information about automotive relays and their related circuits, each student will be able follow the example of the instructor in pointing out the relay location on the 6 different student learning boards with 100% accuracy.

 

Evaluation tool:

Each student will follow the instructor’s example and locate the relays on all 6 of the student learning boards.

 

Mindset

 

Objective: By the end of this lesson, given information about automotive relays and their related circuits, each student will be able print out from Alldata Online the correct component locater for his/her personal vehicle, in preparation for locating the fuel pump relay on the vehicle.

 

Evaluation tool:

Each student will bring to class a printout of the fuel pump relay component location for his/her personal vehicle.

 

Guided Response

 

Objective: By the end of this lesson, given information about automotive relays and their related circuits, with instructor assistance each student will be able to accurately locate the fuel pump relay in his/her own vehicle, using the component locater printed out from the previous assignment.

 

Evaluation tool:

Each student will locate the fuel pump relay in his/her personal vehicle.

 

Mechanism

 

Objective: By the end of this lesson, given information about automotive relays and their related circuits, each student will be able to locate all relays on a school owned vehicle, using resources but without instructor assistance.

 

Evaluation tool:

Each student will be assigned a school owned vehicle and will demonstrate to the instructor the location of all relays on that vehicle.

 

Alternative evaluation:

Students may teach beginning students from the basic auto class how to look up relay locations in online resources and help them locate the relays on their personal vehicles.
