CA2 Cognitive Domain learning levels 4-6

Analysis

Objective: By the end of this lesson, given information about automotive relays and their related circuits, each student will be able to break down in a drawing (on whiteboard) primary and secondary sides of the relay circuit and explain the diagnostic process, such that their fellow students would be able to perform the actual diagnosis.

Evaluation tool:

Each student will present to the class a drawing of the relay electrical circuit, breaking it down into primary and secondary sides, and explaining the diagnostic process.

Synthesis

Objective: By the end of this lesson, given information about automotive relays and their related circuits, each student will be able to draw a cooling fan circuit powered by a relay and switched by a coolant switch that will function.

Evaluation tool:

Each student will draw a relay driven cooling fan circuit that functions.

Evaluation

Objective: By the end of this lesson, given information about automotive relays and their related circuits, each student will be able to compare two dissimilar relay circuits and evaluate the relative longevity of each circuit, based on current draw calculations, wire size, and circuit load.

Evaluation tool:

Each student will present a research project based on the comparison of two dissimilar relay circuits, showing current draw calculations, wire size, and circuit load and support his/her conclusions regarding circuit longevity.
